B.Sc. in Optometry is a 3 + 1-year undergraduate program that provides extensive training and medical knowledge about the human eye.

- Pass in HSC or Equivalent
Apart from teaching the fundamentals of the human eye, this course will also teach how to operate various types of medical equipment that every optometry student and practitioner must know. This course will also focus on communication skills, as students must learn how to communicate with patients properly. Optometry students will also acquire in-depth knowledge of the functioning of the eyes and the treatment of the same in cases of infliction.
They will also train to examine patients’ eyes to detect defects in vision, signs of injury, ocular diseases or abnormality, and problems with general health, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. They make a health assessment, offer clinical advice, prescribe spectacles or contact lenses, and refer patients for further treatment when necessary.
